The ongoing success of the Rotary Club of Tumbarumba's (in conjuction with Tumbarumba High School) Kokoda project has resulted  in another student trip planned for  the Kokoda Track during April 2011.

Year 11 & 12 students from Tumbarumba High School will join with Rotarians and teachers for an adventure of a lifetime.

The trip will again be led by David Baker (Kokoda Culture) with the support of carriers from the villages on the Kokoda Track.

The 2011 project was launched with a most successful Information Night held on Tuesday 11th May at the Tumbarumba Golf Club with approximately 60 people in attendance, including 25 prospective 2011 trekkers (this grew to 28 by the end of July).  Bruce Wright welcomed all and gave a broad overview of what is involved in the project.  An inspirational powerpoint (prepared by Dave Bennetts) rounded out a most successful evening.
